About Us

People from such different lives constantly interact everyday and yet there is little guidance out there to help us understand the differences between us and how we can live with one another. Instead, we often find it easier to put someone into a box or behind a label which stops us from appreciating others and their ways of existing and approaching the world. 

Behind the Label is an empathy education initiative that aims to challenge the divides within our communities by sharing real stories and the tools to guide us to look inwards and adapt how we receive, respond and work with those stories. We see our work as invaluable because we are asking individuals and organisations to not only read and listen to stories, but work on themselves so that they can build authentic connections with others.

The dream vision we are working towards is one where communities thrive on meaningful and collaborative relationships and can tackle the challenges we are facing today together.
